Certification in the wood preservation sector
Homepage > Regulations
Since 2006, the law has imposed protection measures on new buildings against insects with wood-eating larvae that apply throughout French national territory.
Indeed, woods playing a part in the sturdiness of the structure must be either naturally durable, or durable due to a method of treatment applied, or easily replaceable in the event of infestation (with the latter possibility only applying in Mainland France).
These provisions concern all buildings for which the permit was lodged after 1st Nov. 2006, as well as fit-out works undertaken from that date onwards.
